Video: Tree Limb Crashes Onto Wires On Route 306 Amid Gusty Winds After Storm Route 306 had to be temporarily closed in Ramapo during the wind storm when a tree limb crashed onto wires, sending sparks flying. On Thursday, Oct. 17, the Ramapo Police Department closed Route 306 between Viola Road and Fessler Drive while Orange and Rockland Utility crews made repairs to wires that were arching after a tree limb toppled them. The incident caused outages in the area for approximately 30 minutes while the repairs were being made. Wind gusts of nearly 60 mph sent tree limbs flying and toppled power lines throughout the area. School Bus Crash Injures One, Closes Part Of Route 306 Police are currently on the scene of a crash on Route 306 in Monsey involving a car and an unoccupied school bus. Police said the crash took place around 9 a.m., Monday, May 20, on Route 306 just north of Viola Road, said the Ramapo Police. Electrical Fire Shuts Down Stretch Of Lime Kiln Road An electrical fire on a utility pole has shut down a portion of Lime Kiln Road.The Ramapo Police Department said they are on the scene of the fire along with the Hillcrest Fire Department at Lime Kiln Road near Route 306.  O&R Utilities is enroute.  Motorists are asked to avoid the area.  Power is reportedly out to several homes in the area. It is not known how long it will take to restore it.

Officers from the Ramapo Police Department responded to three separate crashes over the weekend, each of which involved a driver who was allegedly intoxicated. Injuries Reported In Rockland School Bus Crash Two drivers suffered injuries after a car and school bus collided in Rockland County. Ramapo police said the crash occurred around 9:10 a.m. Monday in the area of 399 Route 306 in the Village of Wesley Hills.  The school bus was not occupied by students and both the driver of the bus and the other vehicle sustained minor injuries, police said. Route 306 was closed while the vehicles were removed but has reopened.
