Dog Rescued From Icy Pond In Hudson Valley Volunteer firefighters in the area are being hailed as heroes for rescuing a dog that fell through the ice of a Northern Westchester pond. At around 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7, when Pleasantville firefighters were notified that a dog named Miller was stuck in Opperman's Pond and unable to climb out. Woman Seriously Injured In Wrong-Way Saw Mill River Parkway Crash A Fairfield County woman was seriously injured when a wrong-way driver collided with her car on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Northern Westchester. The incident occurred about 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, on the northbound Saw Mill just north of Marble Avenue, in Mount Pleasant, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. The wrong-way driver, identified as Anthony Rodriguez, 42 of Yonkers, traveled along Grant Street in Pleasantville and then turned left to proceed south on the Saw Mill, O'Leary said. Pleasantville's Christopher R. Quimby Dies At 24 Christopher Rollhaus Quimby died peacefully on Thursday, April 11 following a brief illness. He was 24. He was born in Mount Kisco on Oct. 7, 1994 to Gordon R. and Leslie M. Quimby. He was a medically fragile special needs young man with a heart of love who touched the lives of countless individuals, according to his obituary.  He graduated from Pines Bridge BOCES School in Yorktown in 2016 and attended Ability Beyond NY Day Program at Chappaqua Crossing since his graduation.  He was a member of the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church where he was active part of the church family.…
