Target To Close Stores In 4 States, Including NY, Citing Theft, Organized Retail Crime
Citing incidents involving violence and theft, Target announced it is closing nine stores in four states, including one in New York.
The New York store is in Manhattan, at 517 E 117th St.
Three other stores are in California, in the San Francisco/Oakland market, and three in Oregon, in Portland.
The other two stores are in Seattle, Washington.

A newly identified COVID-19 strain with around 30 mutations has now been identified in 10 states.
Cases of the BA.2.86 strain, known as Pirola, have been confirmed in:
Colorado,
Maryland,
Michigan,
New York,
Ohio,
Oregon,
Pennsylvania,
Texas,
Virginia,
Washington.
The Michigan case, the first in the US, was an older woman who had recently returned from Japan who reportedly had mild symptoms.

E. Coli Recall Now Includes Cauliflower, More Leafy Greens
A farm cited as the source of the E.coli outbreak in romaine lettuce is now recalling cauliflower, red leaf lettuce and green leaf lettuce.
The products were grown and harvested between Nov. 27 and 30, Adams Brothers Farming Inc. in Santa Maria, California said.
Cauliflower was sold to distributors in New York, New Jersey, Arizona, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tijuana, Mexico, and Canada, according to Adam Bros. Farming.

The CDC announced that the last of the E. coli–tainted lettuce that sickened 172 people in 32 states, including New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, is no longer on grocery-store shelves. One person died during the outbreak.
