Bicyclist Struck By Vehicle On Busy Rockland Roadway
A bicyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in the area. The crash took place at 3:20 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 14, in Rockland County on North Middletown Road, in Pearl River. A 76-year-old man from Haverstraw was riding his bike northbound on North Middletown Road and was crossing the Route 304 exit ramp when he was hit by a vehicle that was exiting the roadway at the ramp, according to Captain James Brown, of the Orangetown Police Department. Suspects At Large After Rockland County Pharmacy Burglary, Police Say
Police investigators are seeking the public’s assistance as they investigate a burglary at an area pharmacy where the suspects sought drugs, authorities said. Police in Rockland County said that at approximately 4 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, suspects broke into NeighboRx on North Middletown Road in Pearl River by breaking the glass on the front door and gaining illegal entry to the pharmacy. A woman with a previous DWI conviction was allegedly busted for impaired driving during a late-night traffic stop in Rockland County, police said. An area man who had been arrested twice before for stealing one beer from an area store has been arrested again. Victor J. Scala, 57, of Pearl River, was arrested Thursday, Nov. 8, by the Orangetown Police for petit theft for allegedly stealing one beer from the CVS Pharmacy at 75 N. Middletown Road and then left without paying, the Orangetown Police said. A suspect is on the loose after an armed robbery late Friday night in the area. The robbery occurred around 10:45 p.m. at the 7-Eleven on North Middletown Road in Pearl River, according to Detective Sergeant James Sullivan of the Orangetown Police Department.
