Officials ID Woman, 36, Killed After Being Hit By Train That Departed From Rockland
NJ Transit officials have identified the 36-year-old woman struck and killed by a train in River Edge over the weekend. Kim N. Almonte, of River Edge, was struck near the New Bridge Landing station by Pascack Valley Line train 2118 around 4:45 p.m., NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba tells Daily Voice. The train had left Spring Valley, NY at 4:05 p.m.and was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 5:20 p.m., Mulumba said. No injuries were reported to the 120 customers or the crew on board. Rockland County Man Struck, Killed By Train Along Jersey Shore
A 54-year-old Rockland County man was struck and killed by a train along the Jersey Shore Monday, rail officials said. The North Jersey Coast Line train struck Stephen B. Mangold, of Bardonia, near 11th Avenue and Main Street in Neptune around 11:50 a.m., NJ.com said citing an NJ Transit spokeswoman. There were 60 passengers aboard the train at the time of the incident, and service was suspended between Bay Head and Long Branch for approximately one hour.

A tractor-trailer was struck by a train after becoming stuck on the tracks in Sloatsburg. The incident took place around 6:15 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21, when the Port Jervis Line Train #55, out of Hoboken, New Jersey hit the tractor-trailer that was stuck at the Washington Avenue railroad crossing in Sloatsburg, said the MTA. A Rockland County-bound train experiencing mechanical problems delayed 25 passengers at the Park Ridge station Tuesday, NJ Transit officials said. Passengers on Pascack Valley Line train #1613 were transferred to the Montvale station after their 1:32 p.m. train to Spring Valley became disabled, an NJ Transit spokesperson said. Man Struck, Killed In NJ By Spring Valley Commuter Train, Service Suspended
A man was struck and killed in New Jersey by a commuter train that left from Spring Valley 15 minute earlier, authorities said. Service was suspended in both directions after the man was struck at 7:25 a.m. just west of the Park Ridge train station, New Jersey Transit's Nathan Rudy said. The 1612 train left Spring Valley at 7:10 a.m. for Secaucus Junction and had 180 customers and a crew aboard, Rudy said. NJ Transit buses and private carriers picked up the passengers, he said.
