Rockland Dad Who Left Twins In Hot Car Won't Testify To Grand Jury
The attorney for a Hudson Valley dad who left his 1-year-old twins in a hot car in July, causing both of their deaths, said his client will not testify if the matter is sent to a grand jury. Attorney Joey Jackson made the comment following a brief hearing on Thursday, Oct. 24, where prosecutors told Rockland resident Juan Rodriguez, of New City, that the matter had not been presented to a grand jury and the case was once again adjourned until Dec. 5. The Hudson Valley father facing manslaughter charges in the hot-car deaths of year-old twins had earlier dropped off an older child but reportedly forgot to take infants to daycare en route to work in New York City. Rockland Mourns Death Of Purple Heart Recipient, Vets Chief Jerry Donnellan
Former longtime Rockland Veterans Service Agency Director Jerry Donnellan died Friday at his home in Clarkstown. He was 71. He had retired last year after 30 years of county service. Donnellan was a three-time Purple Heart recipient and U.S. Army sergeant who has shown generations of returning members of the service that they can live productive lives – even if they suffered devastating injuries as he did.
