Man Ejected From Car, Thrown Into Ravine After Crash On Highway In Hudson Valley
First responders carried out a careful rescue operation after a man fell over 50 feet down a ravine following a crash on a highway in Northern Westchester. The incident happened on Thursday, Feb. 29 at around 6:30 p.m., when a three-car crash occurred on Interstate 684 in Bedford at the overpass spanning Beaver Dam Park. As a result of the crash, one man was ejected from his vehicle and sent into a ravine underneath the overpass, according to the Katonah Fire Department. A 25-year-old Connecticut man faces drug charges after authorities found him in possession of a kilogram of cocaine during a Northern Westchester traffic stop, police announced. The arrest resulted from an incident on Monday, Nov. 13, when a New York State Police trooper pulled over a 2014 Toyota Corolla on Interstate 684 in North Castle just after 3 p.m. for a vehicle and traffic law violation, authorities said. Upcoming Lane Closures On I-684 Could Cause Delays
Motorists are being warned of a series of lane closures that will soon impact traffic on a busy roadway in the region. A series of single- and double-lane closures in Northern Westchester will affect Interstate 684 in both directions in Bedford between Exit 4 (State Route 172) and Exit 9 (Hardscrabble Road) beginning on Monday, June 19, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The closures will occur on weeknights between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. until Friday, June 23. The lane closures are to allow for roadway work.

A rampaging stolen construction vehicle that rammed multiple police cruisers during an early-morning chase in Westchester was stopped when a quick-thinking officer pushed it off the road with a public works loader. The incident began on Thursday, May 13 around 12:30 a.m., when North Castle Police reported that a stolen skid steer with a forklift attachment was refusing to stop and had entered Harrison in the area of Park Lane, according to Harrison PD. A man was nabbed after he struck a pedestrian with a van he was driving and fled from the scene in the area, authorities said. The incident occurred in Northern Westchester at 8:15 a.m., Friday, July 22 in Mount Kisco, at Main Street and Bedford Road (Route 117). A man and woman are facing charges after being accused of throwing metal objects at motorists in separate and unrelated road-rage incidents that occurred on the same day in different towns on Interstate 684 in Northern Westchester.
