Orange County Man Rams Car, Threatens Driver On I-87, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after allegedly ramming the rear of a vehicle and threatening the driver with an edged weapon following a road rage incident.
The incident took place in Westchester County around 2:25 p.m., Friday, July 21 on I-87 in the city of Yonkers.
According to Trooper Tara McCormick, an investigation determined that Ruben D. Luciano, age 48, of the village of Florida, in Orange County, rear-ended a vehicle following a road rage incident, in which he reportedly exited his vehicle and threatened the other driver with an edged weapon.

Man Nabbed For DWI With Child In Car After I-87 Stop In Hudson Valley, State Police Say
A routine traffic stop turned into a DWI arrest after the driver was allegedly found to be intoxicated while driving with his 12-year-old child.
The incident took place in Ulster County on I-87 around 11:20 p.m., Monday, Dec. 26, in the town of Ulster.
According to New York State Police, troopers stopped Jesus Lantigua, age 39, of the Bronx, for multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
During the stop, Rodriguez was found to be intoxicated while traveling with his 12-year-old child, state police said.

Road Rage: Man Damages Mercedes-Benz During Incident In Rockland, Police Say
A man is accused of causing damage to another vehicle during a road-rage incident in the Hudson Valley.
It happened around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3 in Rockland County on northbound I-87 in the town of Ramapo, according to state police.
Troopers located and stopped both vehicles.
The investigation at the scene determined that Davonne S. Wilmore, age 31, of the Bronx, threw a water bottle at a 2019 Mercedes-Benz truck, causing damage, said state police.

Man Caught With 14 Grams Of Cocaine After I-87 Stop In Area, Police Say
A routine traffic stop in the region ended with a man in handcuffs.
Troopers stopped the man in Orange County, on I-87 in New Windsor, Thursday, May 5, for a vehicle and traffic violation, New York State Police said.
After searching the vehicle, the trooper found approximately 14 grams of cocaine, police said.
The 52-year-old driver, Marco Smith, of South Glens Falls in Saratoga County, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.
He was released and ordered to appear back at the Town of New Windsor Court Thursday, May 26.

A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for alleged felony driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content (BAC) more than twice the legal limit.
Orange County resident Hosmar J. Garcia Giron, age 23, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 23 during a traffic stop on I-87 in the town of Cornwall.
During the stop, Giron, of Newburgh, was found to be allegedly intoxicated. He was taken into custody and processed at police headquarters, where his BAC was determined to be .18 percent, or more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent, said Trooper Tara McCormick.

Woman Charged In Fatal Hit-Run Crash Had Earlier DWI Charge, Police Say
A local woman who was arrested for a hit-and-run crash that killed a man outside a lakefront home in the area was arrested two months ago for DWI and was due to have her license suspended in several days.
Maggie DePerna, age 37, of Mahopac was charged on Saturday, June 26, with vehicular manslaughter, and two counts of DWI (she was reportedly driving drunk when arrested) in the hit-and-run death in Mahopac of James Crecco, of Carmel, on Friday, June 25, said the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

ID Released For 38-Year-Old Killed In Rockland Crash
State Police have identified the driver of a tractor-trailer killed in a crash on I-87 in Rockland County.
Victor M. Naula Lopez, age 38, of Whitestone, Queens, was killed around 5 a.m., Friday, March 12, on I-87 in Ramapo, said Trooper Tara McCormick.
During the crash, Lopez was operating a 2018 Peterbilt tractor-trailer northbound on I-87, in the middle lane when a 2021 Toyota sideswiped the tractor-trailer, causing it to spin out and strike a 2011 Freightliner Semi, driven by Celso A. Lopez, age 56, of New Rochelle.
Lopez was uninjured, McCormick said.
