26 Dogs Seized In Raid Of Puppy Mill In Area An alleged puppy mill was busted over the weekend after a person who adopted a dog tipped off officials that the puppies were kept in horrible conditions. The Hudson Valley SPCA Law Enforcement, along with state police, raided a Pine Bush home with a warrant following a months-long investigation into the suspected puppy mill, according to Gene Hecht, the SPCA’s humane law enforcement officer. When police arrived at the trailer home, they found  Iren Ehrhardt, 70, had 26 dogs and puppies in the 10-foot by 60-foot trailer, Hecht said. Officials said the dogs were in small cage…

Dozens Of Malnourished Goats Seized From Area Farm Twenty-seven goats and a calf were within days of death when found by Hudson Valley SPCA officials on an Orange County farm after receiving a complaint.  The goats were discovered after Gene Hecht, chief of the Hudson Valley SPCA’s Humane Law Enforcement Division, applied for a warrant to raid the farm in the Town of Goshen after investigating. "They had no food, no water and were so emaciated they were less than three days away from death," Hecht said.
