RAMAPO, N.Y. – A utility pole was hit and broken in a car accident on Route 45 in Ramapo on Saturday morning, police said.

The accident happened between Old School House Road and New Hempstead Road.

Authorities were on site making repairs.

While the road remains open for now, authorities recommend avoiding any driving as conditions will worsen throughout the day.
