Rockland Traffic Stop Yields Weapons Cache

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police found multiple weapons when they made a traffic stop early Friday.

About 3:20 a.m. a patrolling officer stopped a car in the Hillcrest area for a traffic violation. The five teenage males in the vehicle were allegedly found to be in possession of a Walther P38 handgun, pepper spray, two knives, a bulletproof vest and an expandable PR-24 baton, as well as several pieces of stolen property, police said. 

The teens are suspects in larcenies from motor vehicles in Hillcrest, Spring Valley and Clarkstown, police said.
