Rockland Man Faces Multiple Charges After Clocking 127 MPH In Pursuit

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Spring Valley man allegedly led state police on a high-speed chase early Sunday that landed him in jail facing multiple charges, according to New York State Police.

On Sunday at approximately 3:14 a.m., state police reportedly initiated a traffic stop of a 2016 Audi allegedly traveling 127 miles per hour in a posted 55 mile per hour zone, police said.

The Audi's driver, police later identified as, Jimmy Pierre, 26, allegedly led state troopers on a three-mile pursuit, before being stopped, according to police.

Pierre and his passenger, Vanessa Barreto, 26, of Spring Valley, were allegedly hostile, belligerent, and visibly intoxicated, police said.

While being arrested Pierre was allegedly found to be in possession of approximately 5 grams of marijuana, according to police.

Both suspects were transported and processed at New York State Troop T police barracks in Tarrytown, police said.

Barreto was charged with disorderly conduct and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Clarkstown Court on Jan. 13, according to police.

Pierre allegedly refused to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content in his system and was charged with the following: driving while intoxicated; an unclassified misdemeanor; second-degree reckless endangerment, a class A misdemeanor; unlawful fleeing a police officer, a class A misdemeanor; disorderly conduct, a violation; unlawful possession of marijuana; a violation and multiple vehicle and traffic violations, police said.

Pierre was arraigned in Clarkstown Court and taken to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $5000 cash bail or bond.
