Rockland Man Charged With Burglarizing Variety Store

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Rockland man has been arrested for throwing a brick through the window of a Long Island store and getting away with two cash registers filled with $160 each, according to state police and the East Hampton Star.

State police arrested Patrick J. Helmer, on charges of third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, criminal possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and petit larceny, after police found him in close proximity to the store at 114 Main St., Sag Harbor police said.

The man's actual residence in Rockland was not provided by state police.
