Police Raid On Rockland Apartment Linked To Murder Of Former HS Athlete

SPRING VALLEY N.Y. -- New York State Police conducted a raid on a Spring Valley appartment in an effort to track down the person who stabbed and killed Orange County firefighter Justin Speights at a party, according to lohud.com.

Police searched the multi-unit home owned by Trustee Vilair Fonvil's family on Prospect Street after it was reported that several Spring Valley men attended the New Year's Eve party that Speights was killed at, lohud.com reported. 

The 20-year-old Speights, a former high school football player at Pine Bush High School, was stabbed and killed while trying to break up a fight at the party in Crawford. State Police have not reported any arrests.

The Silver Lake Fire Department is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. A GoFundMe page has raised more than $11,000 for his family.
