A Rockland County man is reportedly suing his brother, the City of Mount Vernon and former DPW Commissioner Ralph Uzzi for their roles in an alleged 2016 crash in New Jersey.
According to a lawsuit filed with the Westchester County Supreme Court earlier this month, Xavier Vallejo accused his brother, Mario and Uzzi of carelessness in an alleged collision that happened more than a year ago near the intersection of Chestnut Ridge Road and Summit Avenue in Montvale, N.J.
Uzzi - who left his position earlier this year following complaints from city officials that he did not live in Mount Vernon - was using a taxpayer-funded, city-owned vehicle at the time of the collision on June 24, 2016.
It was not immediately clear what damages Vallejo seeks.
Last month, Uzzi was replaced as commissioner by lifelong resident Joseph Nigro. Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas could not be immediately reached for comment on Monday night.
