A serious accident on southbound I-87 in Sloatsburg between Exit 14A (Garden State Parkway) and the Spring Valley toll barrier was reported at 5:32 p.m.

Local police departments in the county are urging residents to avoid driving if they don't have to be on the road.

Plowing and salting in both directions is causing delays on the Bear Mountain Bridge.

In Westchester, a pair of accidents were reported on I-95 shortly after steady snow began falling on Monday afternoon.

An accident that initially blocked the left lane of a stretch of southbound I-95 occurred at Exit 19 (Playland Parkway) just before 4 p.m.

An earlier accident was reported nearby on the northbound side of I-95 at Route 1 (Exit 20).
