Marty Fazio of Pet Nutrition in Nanuet donated frozen turkeys that were given to veterans. Veterans also were able to pick up bags of potatoes, vegetables, cheese, cake and cranberry sauce so they can have a warm meal this holiday season.

"Those who have given so much to preserve the safety and security of our country should never go hungry. I'm proud to partner with dedicated advocates like Veterans Angels to honor veterans for the sacrifices they have made in service to our country," said Carlucci, D-Rockland/Westchester.

The Veterans Angels Association is a Rockland County-based group that provides holiday meals for veterans in addition to helping with post-traumatic stress disorder and Mobility Assistance Service dogs for veterans.

Carlucci said if residents know a veteran who needs a warm meal over Christmas, they should reach out to his office at 845-623-3627
