During the inspection last week, inspectors from the state Department of Transportation checked 51 miles of track and nine switches along the CSX River Line between Tappan and Ulster County, Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office said on Monday.
Inspectors did locate five non-critical defects, including loose bolts and missing cotter pins, reported Lohud.com.
The statewide inspection also turned up four critical defects and 38 non-critical ones, added Lohud.com.
The most serious problems were on CSX's main line in western and central New York, and were immediately repaired, the newsite added.
