Gran Fondo Racers Ride Through Rockland County

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- More than 5,000 riders from 70 countries rode through every Rockland County town on Sunday as part of the 100-mile Campagnolo Gran Fondo Championship race that runs from the George Washington Bridge to the Bear Mountain Bridge, according to lohud.com.

The race draws a spectrum of racers, celebrities and enthusiasts, including everyone from CEOs, firefighters and teachers to people with disabilities and others, to experience riding the challenging and scenic course, said race officials, according to lohud.com. 

Considered the world’s most international cycling event, the New York race is the culmination of GFNY World races around the globe, said race officials, according to lohud.com.
