A radar image of the region at about 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 18 above shows the severe storms (marked in red), which are packed with heavy rain, damaging wind gusts, thunder, and lightning.
There is also an isolated threat for flash flooding, the National Weather Service said.
Scattered storm activity is expected to continue until late Tuesday night.
The outlook for Wednesday, July 19 calls for partly sunny skies and a high temperature in the mid-80s. There is a slight risk for scattered showers and thunderstorms.
It will be mainly cloudy Thursday, July 20 with a high temperature again in the mid-80s and a new chance for spotty storms.
The outlook for Friday, July 21 calls for mostly cloudy skies with another chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly from the middle of the afternoon to the middle of the evening. The high temperature will be around 80 degrees.
