The council, chaired by Ann Byne, Principal of The Byne Group, a creative marketing and public relations agency in Suffern, is currently seeking members who will commit to meet monthly to share ideas, gain industry knowledge, and network with peers.

Additionally, this council will organize and present three membership events each year that provide the general membership with insights and tools to market their own businesses. Topics will revolve around social media, public relations, branding, advertising, and other marketing topics as suggested by RBA members.

“We have so many talented marketing executives in this County,” said RBA President and CEO, Al Samuels. “By creating this council we are hoping to provide this industry with a forum for learning, growing, and networking. And, having these individuals pool their talent together to provide the general membership with guidance on how to market their businesses, it's a win-win.”

The Professional Marketing Council will hold its first meeting next month. The monthly council meetings are open to anyone currently working for a corporation, small business, or agency and whose role revolves around advertising, public relations, graphic design, social media, or other marketing initiatives.

“We hope this council will become a meeting of the minds,” noted Ann Byne, Council Chair and Principal of The Byne Group. “We are excited to provide the creative individuals in the RBA with support and a forum to share ideas, industry insights, and roadblocks they may encounter. We are also excited about producing a series of events that give the general membership a look into how marketing avenues can help build businesses, no matter the size.”

The council is asking that anyone interested in joining this free group, send an email to rba@rocklandbusiness.org, with Professional Marketing Council in the subject head.
