Jenny, age 42, was killed in a crash in Yorktown on Friday, Jan. 3 when she was struck while walking on East Main Street near Mohegan Avenue at approximately 8:06 p.m. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, police said.

A longtime Northern Westchester business is expanding its presence with a new store, marking the next milestone in its nearly five-decade-long history.
The new store, which will be built on a five-acre lot at 2010 Maple Hill St. in Yorktown, will be the future home of Atlantic Appliance, a business that has been serving the area since 1975, Yorktown town officials announced on Friday, Nov. 22.

New York's 40th State Senate District voters have officially chosen their next representative.
Democrat Pete Harckham, age 64, has been projected as winning re-election for his fourth term in the New York State Senate seat representing Northern Westchester and parts of Putnam and Rockland counties, according to the state's Board of Elections.
As of just after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, Harckham was leading his opponent, Republican Gina Arena, by 50 to 44 percent.

$385.15M 2025 Capital Budget Proposed In Westchester: Here's Where Funding Will Go
Westchester County Executive George Latimer has released the details of his proposed 2025 Capital Budget, which requests over $385 million in new appropriations.
The proposed budget, announced by Latimer on Tuesday, Oct. 15, includes $385.15 million in investments in affordable housing, roads and bridges, sewer and water systems, flood mitigation, electric vehicle infrastructure, and parks and recreation.
