The graffiti was discovered in Yorktown where the Taconic Parkway passes over the Croton Reservoir northbound on Saturday, May 21. The graffiti, which was signed with the initials JJC, was done in blue spray paint and said "Jackson C. The I-684 southbound incident occurred at the Saw Mill Parkway junction (Exit 5) in Katonah at about 8:30 a.m. An earlier crash led to the closure of the northbound lanes of the Taconic Parkway at Exit 23 (Bryant Pond Road) in Putnam Valley. Monthslong Lane Closure Starts On Taconic State Parkway There will be single lane closures for several months on the Taconic Parkway in Dutchess County as crews complete construction work in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that beginning on Friday, Aug. 10, there will be single lane closures on the southbound lanes of the parkway between Route 44 and Route 55 in LaGrange. The closures are expected to last through Monday, Dec. 3. Officials said that motorists can expect delays in the area and should seek alternate routes, if possible. Pair Face Felony Drug Charges In Taconic Stop A disabled car on the Taconic Parkway led to the arrest of two men for felony drug charges. Fabian B. Barrett, 34, of Uniondale, and Romique A. Meyers, 35, of Saint Albans, were busted Saturday on drug charges after New York State Troopers came upon their disabled car on the parkway near East Fishkill, said Trooper AJ Hicks. While checking on the vehicle, troopers discovered the men were in possession of five ounces of cocaine, and a small quantity of marijuana, Hicks said.
