A 28-year-old man faces felony charges after allegedly burglarizing a Northern Westchester gas station and taking lottery tickets, police said. Bronx resident Christopher Almanzar was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 15 in connection with a burglary at a Gulf gas station in Yorktown at 3451 Crompond Rd. (Route 35) that happened in February, Yorktown Police announced on Tuesday, Oct. 22. Storms Knock Out Power To Thousands In Area
Thousands of residents in the area are without power after a quick moving round of isolated thunderstorms swept through the area, bringing down trees and tree limbs on Sunday afternoon, June 30, with Northern Westchester the hardest hit. NYSEG says 2,276 are without power in the areas it serves in Northern Westchester, 296 of its customers in Dutchess lost power and 67 in Putnam. About 500 Central Hudson customers lost power in Putnam and Dutchess counties.
