Train Station In Northern Westchester Gets New Elevator, Accessibility Upgrades A Metro-North station in Northern Westchester is the latest to receive accessibility improvements, including an all-new elevator.  The improvements, which were made to the Purdys Metro-North Station in North Salem, were announced by the MTA on Thursday, Feb. 22.  The upgrades include a new elevator that travels between the station's parking lot and the Purdys Road (Route 116) overpass, as well as a new sidewalk compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act that leads from the elevator to the existing station entrance.  The station is the third in Westchester to receive …

Lane Closures: I-684 In Northern Westchester To Be Affected Motorists in Northern Westchester are being warned of lane closures that will affect traffic on Interstate 684.  Two lanes of I-684 southbound will close between Exit 8 (Hardscrabble Road) and Exit 7 (Route 116) in North Salem on Saturday, Aug. 19, the New York State Department of Transportation announced.  The closures will last between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m., officials said.  The interruption to traffic is meant to facilitate bridge deck repairs.

Tractor-Trailer With Thousands Of Gallons Of Fuel Overturns In Northern Westchester This story has been updated. A rollover crash of a tractor-trailer carrying thousands of gallons of diesel fuel and gasoline in Northern Westchester caused a lengthy road closure on Route 116. The crash took place around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday on Route 116, also known as Titicus Road, in North Salem, leaking some of the diesel fuel it was carrying, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.
