Westchester To Hold Free Rabies Vaccine Clinic For Pets: Here's When
To help residents protect their four-legged friends against potential contact with rabid animals, Westchester County will hold a free rabies vaccination clinic for pets, officials announced. The free vaccinations will be given to dogs, cats, and ferrets on Sunday, May 5 at Stamen Animal Hospital in New Rochelle at 61 Quaker Ridge Rd., Westchester officials announced. A pair of dogs were forced to be put in a temporary quarantine after busting through a screen dog and attacking a mailman in Westchester, police said. A USPS mailman walked into Scarsdale Police Headquarters at approximately 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, reporting that he had been bitten by a dog earlier in the day while delivering a package to a Webster Road home. The owner of a pit bull is facing charges after the unvaccinated dog bit a delivery man in Northern Westchester, police said. The arrest comes months after the initial incident when Yorktown Police responded to a residence on Cording Road after hearing a report of a dog bite on Sunday, Nov. 25 around 8:30 p.m. The food delivery person stated that a pit bull jumped onto him as he was leaving the residence. Dog Quarantined In Westchester After Biting Man Saving It From Car
A dog has been put into a temporary quarantine after it got loose and bit a White Plains man on the hand while he was in Scarsdale. A man from White Plains reported to police shortly before 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, that he had been bitten by a small white dog that was running in the middle of Post Road near the Scarsdale Public Library. According to police, the man stated he was bitten by the dog while he and several other people were attempting to help the dog to keep it from being hit by a car.
