17-Year-Old Victim In Hudson Valley Double-Fatal Crash Was 'Easy To Love' Friends and family members are remembering a 17-year-old teen killed in a double-fatal crash as loving sports and his family. Jack J. Noble, of the hamlet of Port Ewen, died unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 8, during the collision in Ulster County around 9 a.m., Monday, Jan. 8 on Route 28 in the town of Shandaken. A native of Kingston, Jack was a junior at Kingston High School. He was an honor roll student and a Varsity athlete, his obituary said. Mother Shot On Porch Of Home In Hudson Valley Near Young Child Detectives are investigating after a mother was shot on the front porch of her Hudson Valley home in what's called a safe area. The incident took place in Ulster County around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 in the hamlet of Port Ewen. According to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a home on North Court for a report of gunshots and a woman screaming. When deputies arrived on the scene they found a 34-year-old woman on a porch with a gunshot wound to her hip, the department said. Hudson Valley 39-Year-Old Accused Of Inappropriately Touching Minor For Months, Police Say A Hudson Valley man is facing criminal charges after police said he sexually abused a minor. Ulster County resident Brandon Ferguson, age 39, of Port Ewen, was arrested Friday, July 29 on a charge of felony sexual abuse. New York State Police said an investigation revealed that he had inappropriately touched the minor victim over a period of several months. Ferguson was arraigned in the town of Cairo Court before a judge released him on his own recognizance. He’s due back in the Town of Catskill Court on Thursday, Aug. 4.

Woman Caught With Stolen Debit Card In Hudson Valley A 34-year-old Hudson Valley woman turned herself into police after she was allegedly caught on video using a stolen debit card. Jessica I. Mann of Wappingers Falls turned herself in Monday to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office,  after being caught on security video using a stolen card to withdraw money at a gas station in Port Ewen, said the Sheriff's Office. Mann was charged with the felony grand larceny and issued an appearance ticket to appear in court.

Bicyclist Killed After Being Hit By Pickup Driver On Route 9W A fatal accident involving a 33-year-old Dutchess County motorist whose pickup truck hit a bicyclist in Ulster County is under investigation, according to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office. The accident occurred around 6:20 p.m. Monday when Michale C. Brailey of Red Hook, who was driving his white 2013 Ford F-150 north on Route 9W when his pickup truck left the roadway and struck a bicyclist, the department said.
