Get Ready For Winter: New Outdoor Ice Skating Rink To Open In Westchester County A new outdoor ice skating rink in Westchester County is in the works and will open in time for the holiday season.  The new 2,000-square-foot rink will be located in Yonkers at the Town Square Lawn by the Cheesecake Factory in the Ridge Hill Shopping Mall at 1 Ridge Hill Blvd., according to Ridge Hill officials.  The rink, which will be known as Ridge Hill on Ice, will celebrate its grand opening on Sunday, Nov. 20 with a professional ice-skating performance at 4 p.m., officials said.  Those who attend are encouraged to book skating reservations ahead of time on Ridge H…

Former Supervisor At Reader's Digest Dies At Age 63 A man who worked at Reader's Digest in Westchester County for decades has died at the age of 63. Dutchess County resident Robert Riley-Brown, of Wappingers Falls, died at New York Presbyterian Milstein Heart Center on Saturday, Aug. 20, according to his obituary. He was born in the Litchfield County town of Sharon, Connecticut. According to his obituary, Riley-Brown worked as a supervisor at the Global Data Center at Reader's Digest in Pleasantville for 27 years, and he later worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie, his obituary said. Firefighter From Region Dies At 22 A volunteer firefighter from the area has died unexpectedly while at work. Sullivan County resident Aaron Michael Terpstra, age 22, of Kenoza Lake died on Wednesday, Feb. 23 while at work as a foreman for NG Gilbert, said his obituary. An Orange County native, Terpstra was born in 1999 in Middletown to Kim and Jim Terpstra Jr. and graduated from Sullivan West Central School in 2017.
