Route 9A Lane Closure Scheduled The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of a lane closure on Route 9A. The Department says a lane closure is scheduled for Route 9A northbound and southbound between Route 117 and Stormytown Road in the Westchester County town of Ossining and the villages of Ossining and Briarcliff Manor. The closure will occur on Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 24 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m while crews perform maintenance work, weather permitting. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 in Buchanan on Albany Post Road (Route 9A) between the railroad bridge and Bleakley Avenue near the Peekskill border. Tractor-Trailer Crashes Into Route 9A Overpass In Briarcliff A tractor-trailer backed up traffic for just over an hour after hitting a bridge overpass on Route 9A in Briarcliff Manor on Friday afternoon, according to police. The vehicle got stuck under the overpass around 2:30 p.m. and was stuck for about an hour before a tow truck could come and move it, Briarcliff Police said. The overpass was inspected and deemed safe, they added. Traffic was back up and running by 3:30 p.m.

One Extricated After Car Overturns At Corner Of Routes 9A, 119 This story has been updated. Traffic was backed up following a two-vehicle crash at the corner of Route 9A and Route 119 in Elmsford. The incident took place around 9:15 a.m. Thursday when one vehicle hit another, sending it flying on its roof. One driver was able to get out of the car, but the woman in the flipped vehicle was cut out of her seatbelt by a Good Samaritan and pulled away. She was transported to the hospital for treatment, said the woman's husband.  The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The New York State Department of Transportation announced that from approximately 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, there will be a lane closed in Mount Pleasant between Route 141 and Route 117. Officials said that motorists can expect delays, and have been advised to seek alternate routes, when possible. Flaggers will be in the area to assist with the flow of traffic.
