A man who was attempting to jump from a Hudson Valley bridge was pulled to safety by police and others who stopped to help. The incident took place around 7:40 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 1 when the Ulster Police Department, along with the New York State Police responded to a 911 call for a suicidal man on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. Tolls To Rise In Just Days On These Bridges In Hudson Valley
Higher toll rates are heading to several New York bridges in the region. According to the New York State Bridge Authority, as part of a four-year plan that began in 2020, the third of four rate hikes is set to take effect as of Sunday, May 1 in the Hudson Valley. Police Searching For Man Who Jumped From Bridge In Hudson Valley
Police in the area are searching for a man who jumped off a bridge in the Hudson Valley The incident took place at around 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 13 at the span of the Mid-Hudson Bridge in Ulster County. That's when officers responded to a 911 call of a man jumping off the bridge, said Chief James Janso of the Town of Lloyd Police. Man Jumps To His Death From Area Bridge On New Year's Day, Police Say
A 29-year-old man died after jumping to his death from an area bridge on New Year's Day, said authorities. The apparent suicide by the resident of Dutchess County took place on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, said Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Capt. John Watterson. Deputy Saves Suicidal Man From Jumping Off Bear Mountain Bridge
A quick-thinking Putnam County Sheriff's deputy was able to talk a man threatening to kill himself by jumping from the side of Bear Mountain Bridge out of ending his life. The dramatic incident took place around 3:56 p.m., Sunday, July 14, when sheriff’s deputies, along with members of other emergency service agencies, responded to the bridge for a report of the man threatening to jump, said the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
