One Driver Trapped In Head-On Northern Westchester Crash A two-vehicle head-on crash trapped the driver of one vehicle in Northern Westchester. The crash took place around 8:17 a.m., Friday, Feb. 14, at the intersection of Mahopac Avenue and Route 35 in Somers, said the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. A serious two-car crash is tied up traffic during the morning commute near the border of Northern Westchester and Putnam. The crash, reported just before 8 a.m. Monday, June 17, occurred on westbound Route 6 at the intersection of Windsor Road, just west of Mahopac Avenue in Somers. One of the vehicles involved landed well off the road. Delays lasted through the end of the morning commute.

Three Injured In Route 6 Head-On Crash Involving Car, SUV, Box Truck Three people received non-life-threatening injuries in a head-on crash on Route 6 in Somers that shut down traffic for almost two hours. The crash, which included a car, an SUV, and a box truck, happened shortly before 7 a.m. Friday near the Northern Westchester/Putnam border. Three people were cared for and transported to Westchester Medical Center by the Somers Fire Department, the fire department said. The closure was between Mahopac Avenue in Somers and Windsor Road in Yorktown following the 7:20 a.m. crash. Eastbound traffic was diverted to Route 6N, westbound traffic used Mahopac Avenue to Route 202/35 during the closure of about an hour-and-a-half. This continues to be a developing story.
