Another Westchester Train Station Gets New Elevator, Accessibility Improvements
A Metro-North station in Westchester has received a new elevator in addition to several other upgrades intended to improve access, parking, and amenities, officials announced. In an announcement on Thursday, Jan. 11, MTA officials announced the opening of a second elevator at the Scarsdale Metro-North Train Station. The new elevator is located in an enclosed tower that serves the Grand Central Station-bound platform. Energy Upgrades: Substation Improvements To Reduce Power Outages In Hudson Valley
A series of planned improvements to a substation in the Hudson Valley is expected to reduce the number and severity of power outages in the area, officials said. The upgrades will be coming to the Dingle Ridge substation located in the Putnam County village of Brewster and are meant to increase reliability and capacity for customers in the region, New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) officials announced on Wednesday, Aug. 9. Metro-North To Start Upgrading Parking Lots At Three Hudson Valley Stations
Metro-North Railroad has announced a series of parking lot upgrades at three Hudson Valley stations. MTA said upgrades will be made at the stations in Putnam County -- in Cold Spring -- and Dutchess County -- in Beacon, and New Hamburg -- in August and September. MTA said temporary closures and parking restrictions will be necessary as work is underway to create better drainage and install new pavement and pavement markings.
