Fatal Northern Westchester Crash: 17-Year-Old ID'd As Victim, Girl Critically Injured A 17-year-old has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash in Northern Westchester in which a 16-year-old was critically injured. It happened around 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15 on Albany Post Road (Route 9) in Cortlandt. According to New York State Police spokesman AJ Hicks, an iitial investigation revealed Putnam County resident and Haldane High School student Vladislav Saban, of Cold Spring, operating a 2012 Toyota Prius southbound sideswiped a Subaru Forester while passing illegally on the right shoulder.  Saban lost control of the vehicle, struck a utility pole, and then a tree.&…

Morning Fire Destroys Putnam Home A home under construction in Putnam County was destroyed when a fire broke out early on Friday, Dec. 13. Officials said that a home being built on Canopus Hollow Road went up in flames at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Friday in Putnam Valley. It is unclear what caused the fire, which fully engulfed the frame of the home.
