Smoke Sighting Prompts Emergency Response At Shopping Center In Northern Westchester Fire crews responded to a busy shopping center in Northern Westchester after receiving reports of smoke pouring from the building's roof. The incident happened on Wednesday, March 27 just after 7 p.m., when crews from the Somers Volunteer Fire Department responded to the Towne Centre At Somers shopping mall for reports of smoke coming from the roof.  Arriving crews soon found that they could not find any smoke or fire outside or within the building.  After searching for around 40 minutes, the department eventually deemed the reports of smoke to be "good intent."

First responders were dispatched to a Highland Avenue home in Eastchester that broke out in the afternoon on Monday, July 15. Fire Breaks Out At House In Northern Westchester A home with an expansive view of the Hudson River was damaged by a fire that started in the chimney chase, according to the Mohegan Volunteer Fire Department. The fire started around 12:10 a.m. Thursday at the home on Forest Avenue in Cortlandt, the department said.  Upon arrival, firefighters found an active fire visible from the wood chimney chase on the exterior of the home.
