A curious black bear took in the sights around a golf course in Westchester County before retreating back into the woods, officials reported. In Westchester, police in Yonkers received multiple reports over the weekend regarding a bear - or bears - that were spotted in the Fox Terrace area near the Dunwoodie Golf Course on Wasylenko Lane. Bear Spotted At Northern Westchester Condo Complex Before Climbing Fence Toward Woods
State and county officials were called to a Northern Westchester condominium complex where there was a new report of a bear sighting. Westchester County Police received a call at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, where there was a report of a bear near a dumpster in the area of Victoria Drive and the Guard Hill condo complex in Mount Kisco. Separate Bear Sightings Reported In Northern Westchester Hamlet
A black bear gave some residents in Northern Westchester a quick scare as it made the rounds through an otherwise quiet neighborhood last week. A Sunset Drive resident in Armonk reported a black bear that was lounging in a tree shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, the North Castle Police Department said, with an officer confirming the bear sighting upon arrival to the home.
