Well-Known Member Of Community ID'd As Woman Struck, Killed By Sedan In Westchester A well-known community volunteer has been identified as the victim of a horrific car crash that ended in her death. Westchester County resident Christine Kenney O'Rourke, age 70, was killed on Sunday, June 11, while out for a walk when a sedan driven by a 54-year-old White Plains woman jumped the sidewalk on North Broadway (Route 9) in  Yonkers, killing O'Rourke and then slamming into a nearby home. Fire Breaks Out After Lightning Strikes Tennis Club In Westchester Torrential rain and severe lightning hampered firefighters as they worked a two-alarm fire Thursday at a popular tennis club. The call came in around 4:30 p.m. Thursday for the fire at the Amackassin Club at 557 Palisade Ave. in Yonkers, said Yonkers Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Fitzpatrick. "A captain was nearby and within a minute he could see flames shooting out of the roof," Fitzpatrick.
