Friends and family members are working to raise funds through a GoFundMe for the family of a U.S. Coast Guard member who was killed last week during a crane accident while on duty in Alaska. Chief Warrant Officer Michael Kozloski, 35, was injured while working in the buoy yard when the accident occurred. Originally from Mahopac, Kozloski was assigned to the cutter Hickory. ID Released For Man Killed After Car Crashes Off Ledge Near Train Station In Westchester
The driver of a car who died after his vehicle fell nearly 40 feet off a gated embankment near a train station in Westchester has been identified. Joseph Kerker, 67, of New Rochelle, was killed when the Toyota he was driving veered off the road and through a fence late Saturday afternoon near the Mount Vernon East train station at the intersection of First Avenue and First Street, said the Mount Vernon Polie The MTA and Mount Vernon Police Department are working jointly to investigate the incident. Car Crashes Into Front Of House In Westchester
A car slammed into the front of a Westchester duplex overnight, damaging a brick wall and causing the evacuation of residents. The incident took place around 2:49 a.m. Friday when the car slammed into a house at 73 Shonnard Place, said Yonkers Police Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos. The driver, who apparently lost control of the vehicle, was taken to a hospital for minor injuries. No one inside the home was injured, he said. The duplex had to be evacuated until the city building inspector assessed the damage, he added. The car was removed by 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Boom Truck Tips Over, Nearly Crushing Home In Northern Westchester
A boom truck working on removing trees behind a North Salem home tipped over, hitting the structure. The incident took place around 10 a.m. Wednesday when the truck tipped over and landed on the corner of the Lakeside Drive house that was recently purchased by new owners, North Salem Police Lt. Andrew Brown said. "They were lucky the home wasn't crushed," Brown said. The truck from Osorio Tree Service apparently tipped while doing tree work and landed on the edge of the house. Woman Killed After Being Hit By Pickup Truck In Westchester Identified
The identity has been released of a woman killed after being hit by a pickup truck while crossing a busy street in Westchester. The incident occurred late Friday afternoon on West Grand Street near Fleetwood Avenue. The victim, 87-year-old Victoria Salberg, was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital. A 34-year-old woman received serious leg injuries when she was crushed between two vehicles in Orange County in what police are saying is a "freak accident." The incident took place around 9:50 a.m. Tuesday on Mid Oaks Road in Monroe when the unidentified woman, who works for a cleaning company, walked out to one of two vehicles parked in an inclined driveway to retrieve supplies, said Monroe Police Sgt. Westchester Man Falls To His Death Adjusting Third-Floor Air Conditioner
A 56-year-old man reaching to fix his window air conditioner fell to his death in Westchester County. Walker Clark of Mount Vernon fell out a third-floor window around 12 a.m. Friday of an apartment building at 630 Gramatan Ave., said Maria Donovan, spokeswoman for the Mount Vernon Police. Clark was attempting to adjust the air conditioner when he fell more than 30 feet to the ground, Donovan said.

A woman who thought she was hitting the brake on her vehicle, but instead hit the gas, ended up at the bottom of a clubhouse pool, police said. The incident took place around 9 a.m. Monday in rainy conditions at the Retreat Senior Living community on Langdon Grove off Stoneleigh Avenue in Carmel, said Carmel Police Lt. John Dearman. 25-Year-Old Dies After Fall From Bucket Truck In Hudson Valley
A 25-year-old man who fell from a bucket truck while working on Monday has died, police announced on Thursday. Middletown Police Lt. Jeffry Thoelen said he was notified late Wednesday by the Orange County Medica Examiner's Office of the death. The man worked for JMH Tree Service, which lists a Middletown address. Fire officials said the man fell 30 to 40 feet near 15 Highland Ave. around 12:48 p.m. Monday. The man was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center by Mobile Life Supports ambulance. Thoelen said they could not release the man's identity pending notification of his family.

State Trooper Injured After Cruiser Overturns In Route 9 Crash
A New York State Police trooper suffered injuries after being involved in a one-car crash in the Hudson Valley. New York State Police in Livingston are investigating the crash, which took place in a patrol vehicle being driven by trooper Theresa Filippini at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday night on Route 9 in Stockport in Columbia County. Car Slams Into Storefront Of Area Pharmacy
A driver hit the gas instead of the brake and slammed into the front of the Rite Aid pharmacy in Mahopac, closing the business, according to Carmel Police. The incident took place around 9:15 a.m. Monday at the Mahopac Village Shopping Centre on Route 6 in Mahopac, police said. No one was injured, but the building was asked to close until it could be inspected for structural soundness, Carmel Police said. All all of the other businesses in the plaza remain open.

The crash took place around 12:22 p.m. Friday at the Pleasantville Pharmacy at 63 Wheeler Ave.in Pleasantville, said Pleasantville Police Chief Erik Grutzner.
