CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. Seniors from Horace Greeley High School's class of 2012 were recognized Monday afternoon for outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, arts, community service and more.
"We're thankful for the reminder of all that our students do. Not only in the classrooms of Horace Greeley, but on our stages and our fields as well," said Mark Bayer in one of his last acts as assistant principal. Bayer will be leaving the district to take over as principal of Somers High School.
The awards were given out on behalf of dozens of organizations and people, including the American Youth Soccer Organization, Stanley Tucci Sr., a former art teacher at Greeley and father of actor Stanley Tucci Jr., and Rep. Nita Lowey (D-Harrison).
Also recognized Monday were the class' valedictorian, Kamil Sadik, and salutatorian, Davis Wertheimer.
"I know that I speak for many of us when we say we're looking forward to hearing your words at Sunday's graduation ceremony," Bayer said.
