Chappaqua Among America's Richest School Districts

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. - Chappaqua Central School District is the fourth richest school district in the nation, according to a list compiled by 24/7 Wall Street.

The average median income for those in the district is $198,382, according to the article. The percentage of households earning $200,000 or more is 55.7 percent, the expenditure per student is $24,705 and the percent of local funding is 84 percent, the article said.

Riverdale School District in Oregon came in one spot ahead of Chappaqua, followed by Weston School District in Connecticut. Scarsdale Union Free District topped the list with a median household income of $238,000.

Other Westchester schools making the list are Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District in fifth, Byram Hill Central School District in sixth and Edgemont Union Free School District in seventh.
