New Castle Boards Welcome New Members

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. - Three of New Castle's volunteer advisory boards gained some new members Tuesday when their appointments were unanimously approved by the New Castle Town Board.

  • Donald Weisstuch was reappointed to the Millwood Task Force for a three-year term.
  • Leslie Smith was appointed to the Millwood Task Force for a three-year term.
  • Lucille Rossi was appointed to the Conservation Board for a two-year term.
  • Barrett Silver was appointed to the Sustainability Advisory Board for a five-year term.
"We have some new board members, so that’s terrific,” said Town Supervisor Susan Carpenter.

The Millwood Task Force advises town officials on projects and issues of importance to the western end of town and to the hamlet of Millwood. The board meets the first Thursday of every month at Millwood Firehouse #2.

The Conservation Board advises town officials on developing sound open space planning and assuring preservation of natural and scenic resources within the Town of New Castle. The board meets the fourth Monday of each month.

The Sustainability Advisory Board advises town officials about policy administration of solid waste collection and disposal, recycling, and waste reduction. The board meets on the last Wednesday of every month.
