Kaplowitz Beats Kane in District 4

Update 2:30 a.m. NEW CASTLE, N.Y. – With 85 percent of precincts reporting, Legislator Michael Kaplowitz leads challenger Gregory Kane, 61 percent to 39 percent.

Kaplowitz (D-Somers) has represented District 4 in Westchester -- Yorktown, Somers, and New Castle -- since 1998. An Independent Democrat, he voted against tax increases and pay raises for legislators.

Republican Gregory Kane has marketed himself as not a career politician. He ran to represent the district after retiring from Wall Street in 2007. Kane previously ran against Kaplowitz in 2009.
