CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Hillary fans may still be reeling from her shocking defeat in the presidential election, but they should not lose hope for the continuation of the Clinton dynasty, say reports in the New York Post and other media outlets.

Chelsea, the only child of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, was right by her mother’s side in 2007 and 2008 when she first sought the nod for president. And she introduced her at the 2016 Democratic National Convention after she was nominated.

Now Hillary may be a position to return the favor.

According to the Post,  the 36-year-old married mom of two is being “groomed” for the seat in Congress occupied by Rep. Nita Lowey, D-Harrison, since 1989.

Lowey, 79, who represents the 17th District, was just re-elected to her 14th term. The Harrison resident is a former assistant secretary of state in New York.

The 17th District includes: White Plains, Harrison, Chappaqua, Greenburgh, Scarsdale, Irvington, Mount Kisco, Mount Pleasant, Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown, Cortlandt, Ossining, Peekskill and Yorktown in Westchester and all of Rockland County.

In 2000, the congresswoman was seriously weighing a run for the U.S. Senate, but dropped her bid when Hillary Clinton announced she was seeking the office.

Lowey had also been seen as the top contender for Clinton’s Senate spot after Clinton was tapped for secretary of state.

In 2008, Lowey announced that she was not going to run for Senate because she didn’t want to give up her seat on the House Appropriations Committee.

Lowey’s husband, Stephen, is a partner is a White Plains law firm. The couple have three children and eight grandchildren.

Lowey’s offices were closed in observance of Veterans Day and the congresswoman could not be reached for comment Friday, Nov. 11, on a possible Clinton candidacy.

Chelsea Clinton lives in Manhattan with her investment banker husband Marc Mezvinsky. The couple have a son and a daughter.

According to the Post report, Chelsea plans to move to Chappaqua, where her parents live and recently purchased a second home on adjacent property.

Always visible on the campaign trail, the former first daughter is no slouch when it comes to public service.

She has worked as a special correspondent for NBC and for New York University, McKinsey & Company and the Avenue Capital Group.

She sits on the board of the Clinton Foundation and has also been on the boards of the School of American Ballet, Weill Cornell Medical College and Common Sense Media.

A graduate of Stanford University, she holds master’s degrees from University College, Oxford and Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, and a doctorate in international relations from Oxford.
