Chappaqua’s Hillary Clinton Backs Gay Marriage

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. – Former Secretary of State and Chappaqua resident Hillary Clinton announced her support for same-sex marriage Monday in a video released by a human rights advocacy group.

"I support it personally and as a matter of policy and law embedded in a broader effort to advance equality and opportunity for LGBT Americans and for all Americans," Clinton said.  Same-sex couples are "full and equal citizens and deserve the rights of citizenship," she added.

Clinton’s announcement is likely to add fuel to the fire of her possibly running for president in 2016. After her last day in office as Secretary of State, Clinton said she was looking forward to sleep and rest in her home in Chappaqua.

However, it appears that rest did not last long, as Clinton signed with a speaking agency just last month—the same agency her husband, former President Bill Clinton, is part of.

Results from a recent Quinnipiac Poll showed that Clinton, who ran for U.S. president in 2008, would most likely beat out her presumed Republican rivals for the commander in chief seat in the 2016 presidential race if she were the Democratic choice.
