CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Former President Bill Clinton is standing behind his Clinton Foundation, which took millions of donations in foreign cash, according to nbcnews.com.

The former president said during an interview with Cynthia McFadden that aired Monday on NBC Nightly News that that he was proud of the work done by his foundation and that they would never engage in activities that they knew were inappropriate, reported nbcnews.com.

Clinton's foundation has been involved with many projects, from "Wings to Fly," which helped thousands of Kenyan kids go to high school to helping the Liberian government fight HIV/AIDS, reported nbcnews.com.

During the interview, Clinton continued to deny that his foundation accepted money in order to influence a policy of the American government, reported nbcnews.com.
