YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- State Sen. Greg Ball (R, C- Patterson) will host a free barbecue Monday afternoon.
The dinner will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Beaver Ridge in Jefferson Valley and will be able to feed up to 300 people. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, pulled pork, salads and beverages will be available on a first come, first serve basis, according to a press release.
Ball said he hoped a warm meal would help to cheer people up.
"The fact is that from Irene until now we are still prone to a natural disaster, and I am watching closely to see how the utilities respond," Ball said in the release. "Along with every member of my staff, I am working day and night to make sure folks have comfort and are safe and secure during these trying times."
