Police Investigating Incident on Shady Lane

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. – At approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday night, a Shady Lane resident reported “suspicious activity” to New Castle Police.

According to police, neighbors saw a man standing in another resident’s driveway shortly before police arrived on the scene. When the neighbors called out to to the man, he ran off into the woods toward Silver Lane.

"We don't have any crime or anything that we would call that person a suspect," said Lt. Dan Cannon. "We don't know what he was doing. The neighbors called to him and he ran away, and that became an issue of concern."

The man was described to police as wearing dark colored clothing and having dark hair.

"If somebody saw the person or you are the person and you have a logical explanation, call us so we can just put it to bed," said Cannon.

Anybody with additional information is asked to call New Castle Police at (914) 238-4422.
