CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. - With temperatures near 100 degrees and the heat index exceeding triple digits, the New Castle Police opened the Chappaqua Library as a cooling center for New Castle seniors and people with special needs.
The library is located across from the New Castle Police Station and New Castle Town Hall at 195 South Greeley Avenue. If seniors do not have transportation to the library, they can call 914-238-4422 for transportation to the library courtesy of the New Castle Police.
The New Castle Police Department urges residents to check on their neighbors, particularly if they know someone elderly or with special needs.
