NEW CASTLE, N.Y. -- A Yonkers man who was in the New Castle section of the New Croton Reservoir this weekend drowned to death, according to the Westchester County Medical Examiner's office.
The official terminology for the cause, according to the examiner's office, is called asphyxia by drowning. The cause was determined following an autopsy.
The medical examiner's office identified the deceased man as Rufus Barr, a 53-year-old resident of Yonkers.
The man, who was previously unidentified, was in a boat that capsized early on Sunday, according to The Journal News, which also reported that the woman, also 53, was injured as a result.
