MILLWOOD, N.Y. The proposed 130-foot cell phone tower for Millwood's Amsterdam property is moving forward and an updated plan will be brought before the New Castle Town Board shortly, said Town Administrator Penny Paderewski.
The company, Homeland Towers, recently visited the proposed site with New Castle Environmental Coordinator Steve Coleman and Recreation and Parks Superintendent Robert Snyder. Paderewski said the group found no wetland issues with the property, which had initially worried Homeland Towers.
"The vendor from Homeland Towers felt the site would be OK for him and they're going to make a report and come back to the board with it," said Paderewski. "So that's moving along."
Paderewski said the company's attorney is putting together the revised plan, which will soon be brought to the New Castle Town Board for review.
