Millwood Animal Hospital Revitalized and Revamped

Jeremy Tubbs and Daniela Goldman have owned the Millwood Animal Hospital for two weeks but they’ve already made many significant improvements to the 38-year old facility inside and out.

Dr. Robert Mavian built the Millwood Animal Hospital in 1973 and had been the sole owner and operator ever since. Mavian retired recently, opening an opportunity for Tubbs and his wife, Daniela Goldman, to work together six days a week.

“This is a dream come true for us,” Tubbs said. “Not be too cliché but I get to do what I love with the people I love. It doesn’t get better than that.”

The couple has made a few aesthetic improvements to the building but thus far most have been to technology in the office and patient rooms.

They have expanded the treatment room, digital x-ray rooms, and brought in computer systems to modernize the veterinary patient experience. Patients can now receive e-mail reminders and text messages when their pet’s treatment is completed.  Tubbs and Goldman have also digitized patient records, blood work and x-ray machines to show pet owners test results immediately.

“We want to make the whole place look like 2011, make it feel more modern,” Tubbs said. “We’ve just gotten to the technology so far but in five years, I’d like it to look up to date.”

Previous to their business venture, Tubbs was practicing veterinary medicine in Scarsdale, while Goldman practiced in Rye. The couple, who met at Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine in the West Indies, live in South Salem. with their 17-month old son Eli, two cats and two dogs.

“It’s really exciting,” Goldman said. “It’s doing everything how you want to be able to do it. Plus you have the business side of things, which is really interesting.”
